I agree I don't really see why using Google Docs would be a lot of
work, it produces HTML so posting it anywhere is just a copy and paste
job.

As far as making it more "official", I agree, why not. Could setup a
"blog" for you on the a.k.o Drupal site, and it would have its own
feed and page and such. Drupal does allow collaborative editing
(WYSIWYG, revisions and such) so using Google Docs would be at your
discretion (Google Docs is really nice when you have a few people
working on a document at the same nice).
