You can of course start with anything, but this feature seems rather obscure. 
I.e. adding new UI elements to Amarok gets always tricky, I suggest you start 
with bugs that don't add new UI, we have a list of junior jobs [1] - pick 
anything you want. (but check comments, some of them are already being worked 
on)
