If you need to temporary disable a definition for a target, you can try something along the lines of:

get_directory_property(temp COMPILE_DEFINITIONS)
remove_definitions(-DQT_WHATEVER)
add_executable(.....)
#....
set_directory_properties(PROPERTIES COMPILE_DEFINITIONS ${temp})

Or just use remove_definitions(...) to remove them for the current and below directories.
