Season of KDE application

Hello

I am applying for season of KDE 2010. I have talked to Lydia about it
and while discussing about ideas, she redirected me to this ML. I am
pasting the small "about me" which I wrote to her while asking for
project idea suggestions.

Well my experience with KDE started with my experience with linux about five
years back. I have used KDE 3 on openSUSE and KDE 4 on a lot of distros
including openSUSE, Gentoo, Archlinux, etc. While using Gentoo, I have done
compilation from source. Though automated through portage, I had configured
it to my needs [actually my friend's needs] and thereby I am aware of some
quirks in that area. Due to this long experience with KDE, I have had ideas
about improvement in KDE now and then. I am a Firefox user for long as well.
So, I keep looking for the Qt port of Firefox. One of my favourite
applications in KDE is Amarok. I liked Amarok 1.4 very much. I was not
satisfied with Amarok 2 until today because today finally I could configure
Amarok 2 to be close to the familiar Amarok 1.4.

I am interested in working on Amarok during summer. I was looking for
developer documentation for Amarok on the site; but couldn't find much. May
be it was because I could not give it enough time as my semester exams are
on. I was also looking at the ideas page for gsoc 2010. A few ideas interest
me; however I want to work on something that I will use. I have not tested;
but when I get back home I would like to sync my ipod with my Amarok
playlist. If that support is not implemented, then that is something I would
like to work on. I have some experience in parsing. So, if there is some
task in which my parsing experience can be useful, it shall suit me as well.
I would like you to make recommendations on the choice of project before I
decide.

I shall await for your suggestions and look forward to interactions.

Regards,
Amitav
