my name is Sanyam, I am final year Student of Computer Science department ,
IIT Bombay, india. I am interested in applying for google summer of code
2010. I contacted the potential mentor also and He suggested to discuss the
proposal on the mailing list.
*
PROJECT:-" Integration of playdar with amarok"*

I was doing some search/reading on playdar before putting my proposal.I
found out that

" *Playdar runs a lightweight webserver on your machine* - this is how you
talk to it, and it's how other desktop apps *and web apps* talk to it."

" Playdar has an HTTP API that returns JSON. It supports JSONP, " There is
nice documentation available for this API.

Since amarok is written is C/C++/Qt , So I was thinking of using Boost
library (http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_36_0/doc/html/boost_asio.html) or
ACE framework (http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/ACE.html<http://www.cs.wustl.edu/%7Eschmidt/ACE.html>)to
implement the project.

Please share your thoughts.
