2.2.2 tagging

All my personal pet issues have been solved for this release. While I
would love to be able to close all ~200 bugs for this release, I think
that overall 2.2.2 is in better shape than 2.2.1 was when we released
it, so while there are still issues left, for most users I think it
will be a definite improvement.

On that note, I think that the development cycle is starting to work
out really well. For 2.2.1 I was not quite happy with the amount of
large changes that were happening very close to the release, which
also resulted in (from the reports I have seen) many users
experiencing regressions. This time around we did a Beta release
which, and I since then we have been pretty good at only doing
bugfixes/minor changes. So while the Beta is good for getting new
features tested, I think it is also a very strong marker for us that
now focus shifts from getting fancy features added to polishing stuff
for release.
