Errr.. yes... the "slim toolbar" would actually be out of the game this way - 
sorry, i didn't consider that at all -> /me shame :-(

A more general and less integrated approach would be to (partially) slide the 
"non statusbar" into the toolbar and fully slide out on hover events (aka. 
autohiding panel)
