Caution: Programmer unit M.Kretschmann detects endless loop. Please go
ahead, Casper. Noone has a workable alternative for your proposal -
wishful thinking is a bit of a gamble.

Having a special case for the strings on Windows (stripping HTML) is
not perfect, but workable. Sounds like a good compromise to me, until
someone steps up and fixes "the whole systray".
