I've got mysqle up and running for amarok pretty fine without any
major issues. I've even asked everyone who cares to test if it works
for them, but no one responded.

The only thing that holds us so far is packaging issue. As you saw
some 12 days ago Lenz recommended me to create a mysql bugreport and
poke him until it's resolved. I've been trying to adapt mysql's cmake
files to include the whole stuff in amarok tree, but so far with no
luck.

If someone cmake-competent (Ian?) would care to look into that issue,
we could estimate if it is at all possible and how much time it'd
take.

If we don't get any luck importing the whole mysql into amarok tree
(and making it compile, of course), we could as well wait for 2.1 or
whatever, because i am quite sure, that mysql's fixes (if any) will
reach distros any time soon.
