Well I've been working on this..

..for about two months now. I'm a bit bored working on it without any
feedback so here it is, in a sorry state:

http://methyblue.com/inara/inara-0.1.tar.bz2

It works much better on OSX, so compile it there if you want to see
what I want to show you. But well linux is ok. Just no analyser or
progress bar. And crappy colours in places. And poor fonts someplaces.
And poor playlist support.

I meant to write a better mail than this, but I'm in a hurry, so I'll
just summarise.

I think Amarok should consider the main view I have created here. It
addresses quite a number of issues with the current design from my
mockup. It also is pretty cool I think. I have many ideas for how it
should go forward. The playlist can easily go on the right, and I
think amarok should do that. I just chose not to for this project as I
wanted to experiment with something different. Well actually the
playlist should be on the right, but it's broken currently and appears
in its own window :D But it should only appear when you want it, not
be there all the time.

If you chose to use it, it's my way back into the project. If you
don't want to, I'm fine with that. As it is somewhat more radical.
I'll keep working on this project though with the hope that some of my
ideas will filter into Amarok.

I love Amarok, miss it terribly, and this is my contribution for now.
Happy compiling!

Max

ps sorry for no screenshots. And you need mpg123 installed. And yes I
can explain why you need mpg123 sometime. And I can provide a dmg for
people who want one. As said, it's better on OSX, that's where i'm
developing it basically. Oh and it needs Qt 4.3 too. I'll do an osx
screencast sometime soon.
