New "feature" branch for testing

Hi all,

a new branch has been just pushed as pa4/notifications
is not really a "feature" but quite some thing may go wrong, so should be 
tested in integration before.

it gets rid of the own notification applet and uses instead the global desktop 
one (with the ui adaptations for touch of course)
it should also update correctly existing setups replacing it
