I believe that I am a victim bug similar to what is described in the link
above. I opened the lid and tried to sign on to Skype before my internet
connection was established. First Skype went crazy and hung. Then everything
else went to hell. The Dropbox daemon said that there was no tmp-like folder
any longer and quit with an error. Most frustratingly the file system seems to
be compromised and I am unable to save...period. I will probably lose a quarter
of a day's work because of this. The OS keeps popping up an error message that
says /<my_home_folder>/.kde/share/config/ApperSharedrc (or something like that,
going from memory here) is not writable so I should talk to the administrator.
This is the worst bug I have ever, ever experienced in KDE because it has
effectively rendered my system read-only (which, for me, is useless).
