Stable repository has become unstable

Hi all,
either I am misunderstanding something or we have a problem ;)
I am - or was, as it seems - running the stable PA2 meego image (basyskom-
plsma-active-two-meego).
Today I did zypper ref && zypper up, because this is what I thought end users
were supposed to in order to get the newest stable packages.
The repository "plasma-stable" - to my surprise - contained 147 MB worth of
updates. After updating, I now have bugs like e.g. the very very serious
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291359 and others which only came up
after the the release of PA2
If any actual end-user does this, she will not be pleased at all :(
So what happened? Did I just do the wrong thing and this would not have
happened if I had updated using Apper instead of Zypper or does our supposedly
stable branch currently contain these bugs?
I understand that the devel branch is broken at some points, but if the stable
branch contains bugs that render the task switcher unusable, we have a problem
and would have to revert the changes that lead to these bugs as soon as
possible.
Cheers,
Thomas
