this is a bug, that has been already discussed at the workshop... sorry, maybe
I spoke only to sebas about this, I cant remember...

Currently in the peek area/tasks switcher all thumbnails are shown with a long
title. this title contains always the name of the file, sometimes its size (as
for images for example), and always its application with which it has been
opened.

in my opinion, only the name is relevant here. may it be "beach.png" or "web
browser". The user doesnt care if its openend in gwenview, imageview or
whatever image-view-app.... he wants to distinguish between the files. 

yes sure, the thumbnails helps, but maybe a short and precise title would help
as well.
