I've just tested more thoroughly with the following outcome:
The resource duplication happens _only_ on the pre-created activities!

When I create two new activities, no duplication happens between them. But any 
resource I add to either of them also shows up on the pre-created activities. 
So this is clearly a bug specifically affecting the pre-created ones.
That's better than a general one, but still pretty confusing.
