The problem with 'we'll hide them till the user searches for them' is that 
it is not obvious (at all) that they are hidden, and not non-existent.

Just imagine opening a file browser, it shows only 5. Where are all my 
files, you'll ask :)

There needs to be a 'show all' activities section.
