            Bug ID: 481884
Summary: Opening .ttf files does not work under Wayland
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kfontview
           Version: 5.27.10
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: j.oster+5f2vykb9 at posteo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When trying to open .ttf files from a folder, e.g. after downloading a font
from the internet, KFontView just responds with "Could not read font.".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a random .ttf from the internet, I chose Fira Code.
https://github.com/tonsky/FiraCode/releases/tag/6.2
2. Extract the file if necessary, and open any .ttf.

OBSERVED RESULT
A "Could not read font" message.
The journal says: kf.kio.core: Url
QUrl("file:///home/username/Downloads/ttf/FiraCode-SemiBold.ttf") already
represents a local file, cancelling job.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should open the file.
