SUMMARY

This appears to be a regression of #169716. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. From chrome, file > open
2. Browse PNGs, until one of them triggers the preview to switch to an empty
media player

OBSERVED RESULT

Now all PNGs show an empty media player, even though some where originally
working.
