I'm afraid this proposal does not make sense. If you want sharper images, your
only option is to buy a higher DPI monitor. Faking it by rendering at 2x size
and downscaling will have no effect because the sharpness of the image will
still be limited to the physical pixels on your screen. The limitation is
hardware, not software.
