Summary: Could not start ksmserver. Check your installation
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
                OS: Linux

Application: kdeinit5 ()

Qt Version: 5.4.2
Operating System: Linux 4.2.0-30-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I entered my password at the login screen and got the error message as kde was
loading plasma. On selecting failsafe instead of plasma it just comes back to
the login screen.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
