I was attempting to install hp printer drivers using hplip-3.15.7.run. 
Thunderbird and Firefox were both running.  The only unusal behavior is with a
usb mouse that that appears to lose/reconnect randomly; this is a very frequent
behavior.  The system is a fresh install rather than an upgrade.
