This sounds very much like a problem I was about to report as new. For me It
happend in a desktop system using SolydK 201405 with KDE 4.12.4 after switching
from the nouveau driver to Nvidia's 331.49-1 driver. If I configure my second
monitor to the right of the primary display I get a stripe similar to the one
described above and the result is a pan and scan effect when using the mouse to
go between monitors and/or desktops. Unlike the above report, if I place the
second display to the left of the primary display it behaves as expected,
otherwise it seems to be the same problem. I have two other distributions
installed on the same box in different partitions with XFCE and Cinnamon
desktops, neither of which have this problem when using Nvidia's driver. I had
this happen in another KDE based Linux distribution I was testing that I did
not keep, not sure which one, I tested several. If I don't hear anything more
on this report I'll file a new one.
