Thanks for the bug report. Your report contains two different issues, not of
which is a Dolphin one (note that Dolphin does not generate the previews
itself).

1. .bmp previews do not work. I cannot confirm the problem here. Thumbnailing
BMP files works just fine.

2. .tga previews do not work. I just created such a file with GIMP, and I also
don't get a preview either. This is probably because no KDE thumbnailer for
this format is installed and enabled on my system. I don't know if such a
thumbnailer is available somewhere.

I'll reasssign the report to kio/thumbnail for the .bmp problem. Things you
might want to try yourself to investigate this further would be

(a) Verify that all preview plugins are enabled in the Dolphin settings.

(b) Check if previews are generated for smaller .bmp files.
