[kde] [Bug 327872] When I click to open an unmounted device I do not get the authentication dialogue where I would enter the root pasword, thus the mount fails.

Thanks for the bug report. Handling devices (including mounting them) is
handled by the Solid library from kdelibs, and not by Dolphin itself. But if I
understand you correctly, the mount failure is only one of several problems
that have appeared recently, so I'll reassign this report to the general
product "KDE" and hope that someone else knows how to handle your report (I'm
not quite sure though that this really is a KDE bug because you said that the
problems appeared after a kernel update - it could be that this is a problem
which is specific to your distribution, or your system).
