as I alluded to above I am unable to submit a report due to either not being
able to stop the shutdown process or not being able to interact with the
dialogue.

However I have found a kwin report that I have been unable to submit for some
reason or other and have attached it, although I can't be certain that it is
entirely relevant as I can't recall when this particular crash occurred.
