Bug ID: 315868
Summary: Extended monitor on left side does not acknowledge
panel.
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kde
Version: 4.10.0
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: jasauders at gmail.com
Kubuntu 12.04 64 bit, KDE 4.10 via PPA. I added a panel on the left side of the
screen that resembles the Unity layout (screenshot to get an idea of the panel
layout: http://ompldr.org/vaGh3Zg/theme2.png ). It's set to "always visible".
If I have an extended monitor on the left side, maximizing windows on my
"right" window containing the left-justified Unity-esque panel doesn't appear
to acknowledge the panel exists, as it expands underneath the panel and not
around it. The maximized window tucks itself under the panel. This behavior was
duplicated by another user in the KDE IRC channel.
Basic synopsis:
Extended monitor on right side - maximizing any program on "left" monitor
(laptop) works fine and the window expands alongside the left-justified panel.
No problems at all.
Extended monitor on left side - maximizing any program on "right" monitor
(laptop) ends up tucking the window underneath the left-justified panel,
despite the always visible setting on the panel.
No extended monitor, just single LCD from laptop - maximizing any program works
fine as the panel expands around the left-justified panel.
