Disabling power management also seems to work for me.  Previously, kded4 was at
3GB resident, 12GB virtual(!).  I was happily able to cleanly kill it with HUP
and restart it as a regular background process without losing my session.

This is an AMD A6-3650 based desktop (MSI board).
