I have answered your e-mail, but in your case I think the problem is the fact
that you are copying two 2GB files over USB. That causes a considerable stress
on the USB bus and USB is kind of CPU bound. A stress that big in the USB bus
can cause high CPU usage numbers that can cause delays in anything in the
computer. Moreover, you are also doing an IO bound operation (copying), those
two together can cause the computer to be slow for as long as the operation is
being carried out.
