I have also had this problem.  Changing cursor themes had no effect.  This is
most noticable when playing games in which the mouse is stationary and when
using Krusader and trying to make selections.

KDE 4.7.2 under openSuSE 12.1
video card:  ASUS EN210 (GeForce 210) w/driver: nouveau (default)
M/B:  ASUS M4N98TD EVO
Chipset:  NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI
