Summary: KDE doesn't use ConsoleKit (or systemd-loginctl) to
                    shutdown or restart the machine
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.7
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: nt1277 at gmail.com

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

KDE doesn't use ConsoleKit (or systemd-loginctl) to shutdown or restart the
machine (or is it just a SuSE specific setting?), so it's impossible to ask for
authentication for such task by copying
/var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop
(or similar) to /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d (or similar) and then
editing it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to instruct PolicyKit to ask for authentication for ConsoleKit/systemd at DBus
based shutdown/restart.

Actual Results:
Sadly, it won't affect KDE :-(

Expected Results:
I assume it would be better if PolicyKit were able to control KDE's
shutdown/restart behavior.

BTW, how does KDE shutdown/restart the system if not using DBus services?
