Summary: Shortcut icons to directories on desktop don't work
                    anymore
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: goranbr at gmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

Shortcut icons to directories do not work anymore. An error dialog says
"KDEInit could not launch '/home/johndoe/dir'". File shortcuts seem to work
fine. This regards previously created icons (KDE 4.7.x) as well as newly
created (KDE 4.8).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a directory shortcut by dragging a directory from Dolphin to the
desktop background and choose "icon" on pop-up menu presented when doing so.
2. Click on the icon just created.

Actual Results:
An error dialog says (e.g.) "KDEInit could not launch '/home/johndoe/dir'".
You will not see the directory you expected to see.

Expected Results:
Depending on settings, I would expect an instance of Dolphin or Konqueror to
start up presenting the destination directory specified in the shortcut. Not
too much to ask for eh? :-)

1. I created a new user "gijoe", logged in and tried to create a directory
shortcut as described above. No joy! Exactly the same error message as above.

2. If you right-click the icon created and edit the command field in the
"Application" tab, prefixing "dolphin" before the directory, ie: "dolphin
/home/johndoe/dir", then it will work as expected.

3. Other users have experienced the same thing. So I am not alone.
