Ah, sorry, I didn't realize that as DrKonqi doesn't make any proposal at all.
However, the issue is fixed upstream by the patch set 0.9. Seth Forshee, the
author of the ALPS kernel patch has released a new version that mimics
synaptics so well, that everything works like with a synaptics touchpad now.
