Summary: Add Default Panel causes crash
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.7
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: joe.craig83 at gmail.com

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

When I right click and add panel default panel it causes Kubuntu to crash. I
have a feeling it is due to the video card that I have. It is an ATI RadeonHD
6450 dual head card.

When I loaded the OS with single monitor then added the second things worked. I
ran updates, restarted and the system would not log in with both monitors
hooked up. Once I removed the second monitor it would log in, but the panel at
the bottom of the screen was not there and when I tried to add it, the system
crashed, at least the graphics. I am trying to file a bug with Crash Reporting
Assistant.

Everytime I try to add a default panel to the desktop with Kubuntu it crashes.
It also did this with Chakra linux as well. So two distros the same hardware
and the same process 100% reproable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Right click desktop, add panel, Default Panel

Actual Results:
Monitor goes black and Crash Reporting Assistant comes up

Expected Results:
The default panel to stay on the screen so I would not have to do this with my
dual head card. Or at least it allow the panel to be added.

Dell Studio XPS Service tag 10pdzq1 for full system specs. Feel free to contact
me via email for more info.
