Even (K)Ubuntu 11.10 ships with an outdate version of Plasma NM. You can check
the Plasma NM version by clicking on the plasmoid system tray icon, then on
"Manage Connections", then in the "Other" tab, there should be a line that with
the version. If there is no version there then you are using Plasma NM for
NM-0.8.
