The power management service causes xorg to leak memory. Stopping it fixes the
issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Use any application while having the power management service enabled.

Actual Results:  
Huge memory usage by xorg. 

Expected Results:  
Reasonable memory usage.

Kubuntu 11.10 64 bit on HP 6820s.
$ uname -a
Linux kubuntu 3.0.0-13-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 2 13:27:26 UTC 2011
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
