Summary: Maximized Panel restores to wrong size on monitor
                    change
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: codemonkey at interthingy.net

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.3)
OS: Linux

I regularly switch my laptop between a wide-screen monitor at work and a normal
monitor at home (and sometimes the LVDS). My KDE Panel is set to maximized but
it seems to always restore (when I login) to the size of the monitor that I
*previously* ran on.

So, if I've last run on a normal monitor (or the LVDS) and then I boot on the
wide-screen, the Panel comes up too short. Conversely, if I've last run on the
wide-screen and then boot on a normal screen, the Panel comes up too long with
the right side extending past the screen edge (and therefore unaccessible).

In both cases, I have to manually fix it by right-clicking, selecting "Panel
Options->Panel Settings", opening the Panel Settings, clicking on "More
Settings" then "Maximize Panel" then "Lock Widgets". (I normally keep my
widgets locked.)

I've started an experiment to see if this is related to locked widgets. I'm
leaving my widgets unlocked; I'll know in a few days if this makes a
difference.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
see details

Expected Results:
The Panel should always adapt itself to the current screen size (depending on
settings).

A maximized Panel should always be the same width as the screen.
