If you see a man drowning, but the law doesn't say that you must save him, do
you let him drown (for fear of disturbing the fish), until you can get the
legislators to enact a law that says you must save him if you can?
Besides, the standard ALREADY suggests a daemon for deleting thumbnails, as
explained in comment #81. What else do you need?
