           Summary: system-config-printer-kde: No "Authentication
                    Required" dialog
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: FreeBSD Ports
        OS/Version: FreeBSD
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: worldhoho at gmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: FreeBSD

The printer I use requires password to access and print. Whenever any user
tries to print, they are prompted for a user name and password in a dialog
saying "Authentication Required". Entering user names and passwords will allow
one to print.

Unfortunately, I find that there is NO such "Authentication Required" dialog
for system-config-printer-kde. So whenever I print from any KDE
application(like Ocular, Kile, etc), it fails. Very annoying.

On the other hand, I can print from any non-KDE applications like firefox,
thunderbird, etc, because they all have the "Authentication Required" dialog.

I have another machine running Ubuntu(Gnome) on which the printer works
flawlessly. It usually shows a dialog like this:
http://cyberelk.net/tim/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/authentication-dialog.png

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to print from any KDE application(like Ocular, Kile, etc) using a network
printer which requires password authentication.

Actual Results:
NO such "Authentication Required" dialog shows up. Fails to print.

Expected Results:
Should show an "Authentication Required" dialog which will allow user to enter
password to access the printer.
