First of all, let me tell you that what I am writing here is a new feature
request for KDE.

More often what happens is that due to some system maintainance I am forced to
reboot my system. What I would like to see is an option for saving and
restoring a KDE application that I am currently using.

This could be another button like the close window button on top of the window.

Another use of this feature is when you do not have enough RAM to run a new
application. At this point, you should be able to save some of your low
priority apps and continue with your work until you complete the work.
