I played a game with wine, that changed the resolution of my screen from
1920x1200 to 800x600.
After exiting the game, I had to manually switch back to my original resolution
with the KDE system settings.
After that, all my fonts were unreadably small, but the font size was still at
9.0 according to KDE's font settings dialog.

Switching the resolution or the font size didn't help, I had to log out 
and back in to get fonts of normal size.

In case it matters, "Force Fonts DPI" was disabled all the time and "Use
anti-aliasing" enabled.
