About your description (weird screen colors/image) it seems the X video server
is crashing. This crashes are mostly related to some errors in the graphics
drivers, and they could be unrelated to KDE. Be sure to have the drivers of
your graphics card updated; you may also want to ask at
http://forums.opensuse.org/
