Simular problem with openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5 AND 4.1

moving mouse while loading some data in fresh opened openoffice or firefox
stops any keyboard and mouse functionally. System access is by remote shell
possible, only. Restarting KDE, X, switching runlevels don't reactivate mouse
or keyboard.
After rebooting the box all is fine up to the next above describben situation.

Switching my PS/2 connected USB-mouse to a native USB-slot solved the problem.

I hope this helps finding the problem.
