I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, and with all the keyboard models that *do*
in general work (including arrows, media keys, modifiers), the Delete key does
not.

xev does recognise it as Delete just fine.  With Synergy, I can send the Delete
stroke through to my other computer just fine.  It just doesn’t work in any
local app (including Firefox).

However, KP_Delete (activated with Fn+. on this keyboard) does work.


And additionally, the other day KDE didn’t find the kglobalshortcuts.desktop
file so all of my global shortcuts stopped working.  Why this is significant? 
Because then, my Delete key started working!

I have looked into the rc files, and in fact my entire .kde4 directory, the
only mention of Del regarding shortcuts is the Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Delete for logging out (which I have disabled, and I set up the
“windowsese” Launch Sysguard as Ctrl+Alt+Delete).

So I feel there is a bug somewhere... :/
