I got the same problem - at least, I think so.

Sadly removing /var/tmp/kdecache-* didn't work for me.

Also I only got the problem when not running a full kde session, e.g. fluxbox.

(fyi, I already filed a bug at bugs.gentoo.org as I couldn't find this bug
before and thought it was a distro problem...
