KDE keyboard layout switcher from kde control center

I have a global shortcut for changing layouts enabled and is set to
(left)ALT+(left)SHIFT - same as the standard shortcut in Windows.

However, after few restarts, the shortcut is no longer enabled. Although it is
still there shown in the switcher config, it doesn't work anymore. I haven't
found out what causes the shortcut to malfunction.

I can then enable the shortcut again after changing a few things (e.g. click
checkbox and click again to return to the former  value) and clicking on Apply.
