Summary: No mechanism for user to save KDE session (KDE4.2)
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: RedHat RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: fred_wells at charter.net

Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: RedHat RPMs

As of KDE4.2, there still exists no mechanism to manually save the user's
session. System Settings -> Session Manager provides an option to "Restore
manually saved session" on login, yet there exists no clear option to actually
save the session to be restored.

Bug 155341 was originally reported on this and has been closed as fixed.
However, while something may have been fixed, the original reported bug was
not.

If I'm incorrect and this has been fixed, could someone kindly instruct me how
to manually save a session. And please, not some obscure command-line,
dbus-send method.
