Then it seems that the KMenu is the culprit

According to the backtrace, the application is hanging when trying to lookup
for the free disk space in the mounted usb stick.

This could be related to bug 184062 (The KMenu widget also freezing Plasma when
a device/connection had a problem...)

I don't think adding that option would be possible, as it would introduce a new
string... which is not allowed right now... sorry
