- Which kind of file are you trying to copy ?
- What is the size of that file ?
- What is the "buggy" thing ? The usb key has some problem ?
- Have you noticed too much hard disk activity ?
- Have you check if any process was taking too much CPU ?

Plasma never blocks during file operations so it could be an unrelated problem
in a corner case. If all the desktop gets slow, may be there is another
problem. (memory swapping to disk)

- Have you tried to repeat the same situation ?
