I have the same problem with Debian testing and KDE 4.3.2 on my external
1920x1200 LCD. As soon as I switch from the laptop panel to the external
monitor, the mouse pointer disappears.
If I lock and unlock the screen, the mouse pointer reappears and remains
visible for the rest of the session.
