Summary: kde waits 5s while starting up
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: linuxhippy at gmail.com

Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

On my system KDE starts up with the splash screen, but when the last icon (the
big "K") is reached the system pauses for about 5-10s without any IO or CPU
activity.
When clicking on the splash-screen during that time, I see a completly
initialized plasma, but no applications in the system-tray plasmoid.
After that idle time, kde continues to load.

It seems during startup, KDE is waiting 5-10s for something, slowing down the
whole startup process.

I first thought my machine is broken, but I saw the same behaviour with
Kubuntu-9.10alpha4 on my gf's laptop.
